Sweater turned out nicely
Very happy with the finished result. I found it very difficult to achieve horizontal gauge even going down a needle size...my gauge was a bit too wide. It ended up working out fine, I just knit the directions for a size down from what I needed and made sleeves and body longer. If I'd knit to gauge I think the resulting fabric would have been very stiff feeling. Pattern was fine but several spots were quite confusing. I have been knitting and reading patterns for 30+ years so I don't think it was me! If you are experienced you will not have trouble sorting out what is meant but be careful as you work through any shaping areas to ensure you're understanding the directions correctly. My husband is very pleased with the sweater and I may knit one in another color for myself. I had to use an additional skein of yarn than the kit included but as mentioned my gauge was not quite on so I expected this and ordered a couple of extra skeins in advance. Do a gauge swatch, pay attention to shaping, and you'll have a lovely sweater when you're done.
