A Joy to Make

I made this as a Christmas in July project. With the bright colors and engaging pattern, I never got bored, and it turned out gorgeous. The yarn is the perfect weight and soft texture. The instructions were thorough and without any errors, although it took me a few moments to realize the 8-1/2” motif is measured corner to corner, and I needed a size H/5mm hook to achieve this. I did make a couple of changes. On Rnd 4, where it says to “sc in next sc of Rnd 3,” I did a ch 1 instead. That gave more space for the 4 treble clusters on Rnd 5, and I think it looks neater. And instead of the picot border, I did plain sc, with 2 sc in each of the 2 outer corner sts, and sc2tog in the 2 sts of each valley.

These Christmas afghan kits are terrific. The detailed instructions and all yarn included make my projects a breeze. Thank you for all the effort you put into these kits.
